Privacy Policy

WhereWuhzai is built to keep your data close to you. This policy explains exactly what is stored, where it lives, and who else is involved.

Data stored in your browser

By default, everything WhereWuhzai knows about you lives on your own device, in your browser's localStorage: your chosen streaming services, the shows and movies you track, your watch progress, and your settings. This data is not sent to us — there is no WhereWuhzai account required to use the app, and we operate no analytics or tracking server of our own.

Optional account sync (Supabase)

If you choose to create an account to sync your library across devices, WhereWuhzai uses Supabase as its backend. In that case:

• Your email address and a securely hashed password are stored by Supabase to authenticate you. We never store your password in plain text.
• Your tracked library (services, shows, movies, progress, and settings) is stored on Supabase servers so it can be synced to your other devices.
• Your TMDB API key is kept only on your device and is never included in the synced data.

Account sync is entirely optional. If you never sign in, none of your data leaves your browser. You can erase your local data at any time from Settings.

The Movie Database (TMDB)

WhereWuhzai looks up show and movie information — titles, posters, seasons, and streaming availability — by calling the TMDB API directly from your browser. These requests are made to TMDB to fetch catalog data; they are a normal part of how the app works.

Advertising

WhereWuhzai may display advertising to support the free service. Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors' use of advertising cookies enables them and their partners to serve ads based on your activity.

Visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be shown a consent prompt before any personalized advertising or non-essential cookies are used, and can decline. You can also manage Google's use of advertising cookies by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Affiliate links

Some links to streaming services on WhereWuhzai may be affiliate links: if you sign up for a service after clicking one, WhereWuhzai may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. To attribute these referrals, our affiliate partner Impact.com loads a measurement script on this site that may use cookies or similar identifiers to record link clicks and impressions. This does not affect which services we show you — links always reflect where your shows are actually available.

Children

WhereWuhzai is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
