FAQ & How it works
Everything you need to know about tracking your shows with WhereWuhzai.
How do I add shows?
First, tell WhereWuhzai which streaming services you subscribe to. Then hit Add shows: each service gets a tab where you can browse its current catalog, sorted by popularity, or search for any title by name. Click a poster to add it to the service you watch it on. Search results are badged with which of your services carry them, so you always add a show to the right place.
What does the NEW pill mean?
The NEW pill appears on a show when a fresh episode has aired within the last couple of weeks that you haven't marked as watched yet — a quick nudge that there's something new waiting for you.
What is "Next up"?
For series you're tracking progress on, WhereWuhzai figures out the next episode to watch and shows a Next up · S2 E8–style chip. If you're caught up and a new episode is scheduled, it shows the upcoming air date instead. Use the +1 button on a row to mark the next episode watched, or edit your progress directly.
How does sync work?
By default your library lives only in your browser — no account needed. If you want it on more than one device, you can optionally create an account, and WhereWuhzai will sync your whole library securely so it follows you between devices. Sync is off unless you sign in.
Is my data private?
Yes. Without an account, nothing you track ever leaves your device. If you opt into syncing, your library is stored on our backend so it can reach your other devices, and your TMDB key always stays local. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Why did a show move to the archive?
A few reasons. WhereWuhzai periodically re-checks availability, and if a show leaves a service you subscribe to, it's automatically moved to the archive (and automatically restored if it comes back). You can also archive a show yourself, or mark it complete — completed shows land in the archive with a green check. The archive is grouped by service and collapsed at the bottom of Home.
Does it cost anything?
No — WhereWuhzai is free to use.
Which services are supported?
Any streaming service that The Movie Database lists for your region, including the big ones — Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Peacock, Paramount+, Crunchyroll, Starz, and more. You pick the ones you actually subscribe to during setup or in Settings, and you can change your region there too.
How fresh is availability data?
WhereWuhzai automatically re-checks your tracked titles when you open the app, throttled to about once every 12 hours so it stays quick. You can force an immediate re-check any time with Refresh now in Settings, which also shows when the last check ran. Availability comes from TMDB and reflects streaming (subscription) options in your selected region.
Do I need a TMDB API key?
Yes — WhereWuhzai reads show and movie data from TMDB, which is free to sign up for. Paste your key during onboarding, or click "Explore the demo" to try the app with sample data first — no key required.
Can I track movies too?
Yes. Turn on Include movies in Settings and you can browse and search movies alongside shows. Movies just need one action — mark them watched — and they'll move to your archive with a green check, right next to your finished series.
