Where to watch Yellowstone
Everyone's first guess is Paramount+. Everyone's first guess is wrong.
Last checked 26 July 2026 · US availability
All five seasons of Yellowstone stream on Peacock.
The spinoffs are somewhere else entirely. 1883, 1923 and The Madison are all on Paramount+. Yes, really. Two subscriptions to follow one franchise.
Why it isn't on Paramount+
Yellowstone airs on Paramount Network, a cable channel. Paramount+ is a streaming service. Same corporate parent, same word in the name, completely different rights.
Yellowstone premiered in June 2018 as a modest cable western, and NBCUniversal picked up the streaming licence. Paramount+ didn't launch until March 2021. By then the deal was signed and the show had become the most-watched scripted series on cable. So Paramount's most valuable franchise pays rent at a competitor, while every spinoff commissioned since has stayed home.
It is a genuinely stupid situation and it is the reason this page exists. If you have looked it up more than once, you are not forgetting the answer. The answer is just unreasonable.
What's on each service
| Title | Where | How much there is |
|---|---|---|
| Yellowstone | Peacock | All 5 seasons, 53 episodes |
| 1883 | Paramount+ | 10 episodes, complete |
| 1923 | Paramount+ | 2 seasons, 15 episodes, complete |
| The Madison | Paramount+ | Premiered March 2026, ongoing |
The Madison isn't a Dutton story, if that's what you'd be subscribing for. It follows the Clyburns, a New York family who move to Montana's Madison River valley.
What it costs
Peacock Premium is $10.99 a month with ads, $16.99 without. Yellowstone is on both tiers. Paramount+ Essential, if you want the spinoffs, is $8.99 a month.
Watching it without Peacock
Live TV bundles that carry Paramount Network work. YouTube TV, Fubo and Philo all include the channel, usually with an on-demand back catalogue attached. Fine if you already subscribe to one, but starting a live TV package for this makes no sense at $82.99 a month against Peacock's $10.99.
You can also buy seasons outright from Amazon, Google Play or Fandango at Home, which only pays off if you rewatch things.
Watch order
Start with Yellowstone. It's the show everything else hangs off, and the prequels land better once you know which family you're watching. If you finish all five seasons and want more, 1883 is the strongest of the spinoffs by a distance. Ten episodes, self-contained, and you can stop there without owing the franchise anything.
Chronological order (1883 → 1923 → Yellowstone) works too, at the cost of spoiling a few reveals about the ranch's history that the main series doles out slowly.
Is Yellowstone finished?
The original series ended in December 2024 after 53 episodes, and nothing more is coming on Peacock. Paramount+ has kept commissioning around it, so the split you're dealing with today only gets more lopsided from here.
Nobody should have to keep a rights dispute in their head just to watch a western. WhereWuhzai keeps it for you, and says something if Yellowstone ever moves again.
