Where to watch Silo
Apple's service, which is now confusingly named after a piece of hardware you might also own.
Last checked 26 July 2026 · US availability
Silo is an Apple exclusive. It streams on the service you probably still think of as Apple TV+, where season three is airing weekly now.
You can also add it to Prime Video as a channel, which is the easier route if Apple's app isn't already part of your life.
The name is the problem
Apple dropped the plus in 2025. The subscription service is now just called Apple TV, which is also the name of the app, and also the name of the streaming box, and also the name of the storefront where you rent films that aren't part of the subscription.
So when a listing says Silo is "on Apple TV", that sentence has four possible meanings and only one of them is right. It's on the subscription. You cannot buy Silo outright.
What it costs, and the easier route in
The subscription is $12.99 a month, or $99.99 for a year, which is worth doing the sum on if you expect to keep it past eight months.
Apple also sells it as an add-on channel inside Prime Video. Same show, billed by Amazon, turning up in the Prime Video interface alongside everything else you watch.
Worth doing if you already live in Prime Video, because the single biggest reason people abandon Apple's originals is that they forget the app exists.
Where the story is up to
Seasons one and two are complete, twenty episodes between them. Season three began in early July 2026, runs ten episodes weekly, and finishes in early September. Four had aired as this was written.
Seasons three and four were ordered together in December 2024, with the fourth set as the final season, taking Hugh Howey's trilogy to its actual ending. The two were filmed back to back and season four is expected in summer 2027.
Mystery-box shows that don't know where they're going tend to come apart around the third season. This one has a finish line and a date on it.
Do you need to read the books?
No. The series is self-contained and the adaptation reorders enough that book readers get surprised too. If anything, reading first spoils the central question of season one, which is the best thing the show has.
Silo goes out weekly, and a weekly show in an app you rarely open is a show you stop following by accident. WhereWuhzai puts the next episode where you'll see it.
